| We get Calcutta drums from Shyamal, Mridangam, and Mukta Das. Our selection varies from time to time, since these are all small operations. The #2 set includes a shishum tabla with a first-rate head, and a copper baya weighing at least 2 1/2 kilos. Often these drums will sound as good as a #1 set. The difference is in the quality of the wood and straps and the weight of the baya. |
