Hiren Roy and Sons Hiren Roy and Sons is the most respected sitar making family in India. Great musicians such as Nikhil Banerjee always played a Hiren Roy. We have always had a special realtionship with this family. Among Hiren Roy's music teachers was Ali Akbar Khan's sister, Annapurna Devi. All three of Hiren Roy's sons studied music with either Annapurna Devi or Khansahib's son Dhyanesh. The shop is now run by youngest son Barun.
